PasteRheo ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our clipboard management application. We believe your clipboard data is personal and sensitive — that's why we've built PasteRheo with privacy as a core principle.

Information We Collect

Clipboard Data

Your clipboard history (text, images, files, and other content you copy) is stored locally on your device. By default, this data never leaves your device. We cannot access, read, or analyze your clipboard content.

Account Information

If you create an account (optional, for Pro+ features), we collect:

• Email address (for authentication and account recovery)
• Subscription status (to provide appropriate features)

Device Identifiers

To enforce device limits on your subscription, we collect:

• A unique device fingerprint (one-way hash of your hardware UUID) — cannot be reversed to identify your hardware
• A generic device label (e.g., "macOS-a1b2c3") — derived from platform and fingerprint, contains no personal information
• Operating system and version — for compatibility and support purposes

We never collect your real device name (like "John's MacBook"). This information is only transmitted when you sign in, and you can remove devices from your account settings at any time.

Crash Reports (Optional)

If you opt in to crash reporting, we collect anonymized crash data to improve the app. This includes:

• Crash stack traces (with personal information removed)
• App version and OS version
• General error context (never clipboard content)

Information We Never Collect

We are committed to your privacy. We never collect:

• Your clipboard content (text, images, files)
• Your browsing history or app usage patterns
• Your location data
• Your contacts or personal files
• Any data for advertising purposes

Data Storage & Security

Your data security is our top priority:

• All clipboard data is encrypted using AES-256-GCM encryption
• Encryption keys are stored in your system Keychain (macOS) or equivalent secure storage
• Database is encrypted using SQLCipher
• We use industry-standard security practices for any server-side data

Cloud Sync (Pro+ Only)

If you enable cloud sync in Pro+, your clipboard data is synced across devices. Here's how we protect it:

• All synced data is end-to-end encrypted — only you can decrypt it
• We cannot read your synced clipboard content
• Sync is opt-in and disabled by default
• You can delete all synced data at any time from your account settings

AI Content Detection

PasteRheo uses AI to detect content types (code, colors, URLs, etc.) for smart previews. All AI processing happens 100% on your device. Your clipboard content is never sent to external servers or cloud APIs for analysis.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Supabase — for authentication and account management (if you create an account)
• Sentry — for crash reporting (opt-in only, with privacy filtering)
• Payment processors — for subscription payments (we don't store payment details)

Your Rights

You have full control over your data:

• Access — View all data associated with your account
• Delete — Delete your account and all associated data at any time
• Export — Export your clipboard history from the app
• Opt-out — Disable crash reporting and analytics at any time

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes through the app or via email. Your continued use of PasteRheo after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
